I added scale and the ability to be able to render 2 separate skeletons at the same time, every tiny feature sets the performance back a little bit, the only saving grace is that I know I will be able to go back and optimize things if needed:
Also looking at hosting, while Google Cloud has been very good so far I need alternatives in the case of Google doing what they do best which is to cancel things.
I finally managed to sign up to IONOS but their registration is a mess, and european customers have to pay a one time 10€ fee, so it does not look promising, but 1€/month is still worth a try to get redundant central US presence.
I'm considering building my server cluster on a hybrid of Google and Amazon, I'm just waiting for Amazon to get a central region in the US, if IONOS is good I'll use them until that happens and have Amazon as redundancy in Asia!
The new Google E2 are meaningless, but the Amazon T3 unlimited instances seem relatively promising, so Amazon is catching up (!).
